Device compatibility

Most phones released from 2019 onwards support eSIM, including iPhone XS and XR and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, along with many recent Motorola, Oppo, Huawei and Sony models. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked.

Open Settings, then General, then About, and look for an EID number. If it's there, or if Settings then Mobile Data shows Add eSIM, your iPhone is eSIM-ready. This covers iPhone XS and XR and later.

Open Settings, then Network and internet, then SIMs, and look for Add eSIM or Add mobile plan. You can also dial *#06# and check for an EID number, which confirms the eSIM chip is present.

Carrier-unlocked means your phone is free to use on any network rather than tied to one provider. A locked phone will reject the eSIM, so if you bought yours on a contract, ask your provider to unlock it before you travel.

Many cellular iPads and tablets support eSIM data. Check for an EID and an add-eSIM option in the settings. Our plans are data-only, which suits a tablet well.

No. Each eSIM installs on one device only and can't be moved to another phone afterwards. If two people need data, buy an eSIM for each phone.

It can. A few phone models sold in certain regions ship without eSIM hardware. The reliable check is the same everywhere: look for an EID in your settings, and if there isn't one, the phone can't use an eSIM.

It's worth updating your phone first. The add-eSIM menus and eSIM support work best on current iOS and Android versions, and an update can restore a missing add-eSIM option.
